Been experimenting a little with some different illustration styles. I had alot of fun inking and colouring this one. Mixed traditional media.

This is a drawing i did when i was 14 and was going through some difficult stuff and my emotion really reflected throughout my artwork. I had a real passion for crosshatching and dark or sad themes that made people think and could interpret them in their own way. This is one of my favourite drawings i’ve ever done because of the meaning i put behind it. It’s a very personal drawing, but i share it because i know people who’ve seen this drawing and felt the emotion in it, in their own way. I also don’t mind sharing the story of this picture, because its one thats’ meaning is strong and i feel many people could relate.

The story behind it is a sad one, but also relieving in a way. My thoughts of this drawing when i was creating it was that the story was of a girl who felt like giving up. Death offered to take away all her pain, so he holds his hand out for her so they can leave together, but she is unsure. Death isn’t a bad guy in this picture and i didn’t want to portray him that way. Instead i want him to be the guy who justs wants to end the suffering of this girl who felt like she couldn’t continue anymore.
